Speech › Dialect

An Accent is the way we pronounce words in conversation. People from different areas have specific ways of pronouncing certain patterns of letters.

Dialects usually describe where a person comes from, just like accents. An accent is about sound production, a dialect is made up of a number of elements. First, the way words and sentences are put together (grammar) may be different. Secondly, it may use words no other dialect uses, specific to that area. Thirdly, it tends to be spoken in a regional accent.

Dialect / Accent Modification is implemented when an individual desires expressive speech more typical to the region in which he lives.

Treatment for Dialect / Accent Modification does not seek to obliterate the accent or dialect, however satisfaction of the speaker and reduction is obtained.
